Dr. Schlessinger received her Ph.D. from the Physiology Department of the medical school of Columbia University in New York, and her Post-Doctoral Certification in Marriage and Family Therapy from the USC Human Relations Department, Los Angeles. She is licensed in the State of California as a Marriage, Family and Child Counselor. She is credentialed in Hypnosis and Sex Therapy.
Dr. Schlessinger's best-selling book, Ten Stupid Things Women Do To Mess Up Their Lives has propelled her national attention and awareness. She has a monthly column in LA Parent Magazine as well as several feature articles and has been syndicated internationally. In 2002 Dr. Laura was named Talker's Magazine 7th Best Radio host of all time.
