I ask the question cause I have absolutely no read on this team.  I wouldn't gamble either way on them even if I still had access to my parent's credit card...well, that might be a lie.

If you are a Carl Peterson or Herm Edwards fan you might as well just stop now.

After spending two thirds of his life in denial Brian finally admits what has so been obvious to the rest of the world for well over a decade...Notre Dame Football is dead, can it be resurrected?

It's been a few weeks since I've updated and I apologize.  Ever since Clint Zweifel came out with attack ads on Brad Lager nearly all of my free time has been used fact checking both candidates for the State Treasurer of Missouri. My search for truth has kept me from keeping you up to date with my sports opinions. I figure since it is the political season I will offer a "State of the Union" on some of the teams and topics that I’ve written about in recent months. I'll go through 'em one at a time starting with the home-state college football team

NEW RECORDS HAVE BEEN SET AS FAR AS COMMENTS GO!!!  As a token appreciation (plus he's got a big bag of nothing) instead of writing lame opinions Brian will ask you, the (un)loyal readers, a couple of questions.

Can someone please give us an honest answer of what happened to Chuck?

Today was a magical day on The Sports Reporters! Why? Because apparently some dude Father Time's age called the show and berated Big Red for trying to be too much like Jim Rome. The caller claimed the use of rap music and other assorted sound effects took away from the premise of the show.

I totally disagree! In fact I think it's humorous, most of the time, when they go off subject and talk about things that have nothing to do with sports or somehow tie into the discussion somewhere, somehow. I loved it at the end of the show when Big Red went off on the board and I also loved it when he was being sarcastic and told Scott that he wasn't there to please that one listener.

One more thing.........Booms needs more airtime on the Jock than just the trivia show! How about dumping Imus the Loser and going with Booms until the Reporters comes on? If not that, then just dump Imus the Loser and go with the WHOLE Fox morning show instead of cutting it off to bore us with Imus the Loser! If you can't tell I think Imus is a LOSER! So that we have this straight.....More Booms or Fox morning show and Dump the Loser that is IMUS!

Good Night Now!

Uh. Sorry for the belated response. I don't take your criticism to heart, and I know you (probably/hopefully) don't mean it personally. I appreciate you listening to the JOCK and hope you continue to listen.

what is the point of a blog (however irregular) if the comment section is never available. You should return to writing your comments on the bathroom stalls of Turner

Mr. Bardsley, your response was quite humbling to me. I wrote that just after I had heard what I thought was a failed attempt at sports humor (although I can honestly tell you I'm not sure which one it was). I'm not the older listener that desires dry humor and headlines only, in fact I'm 25 and open to updating radio. I think FOX Sports Radio has done a delightful job in introducing an array of promos and new broadcasting. I may just be used to the parodies involving people that already have quite a name in the business (Imus' clan, etc.). I respect the fact that you do new things, I just don't like the majority of your work. For some reason it comes accross juvenile to me, like it is targeted to a younger audience than me. You would be happy to know that I don't know of anyone that shares my feelings. I'll make you a deal, keep it up and I will listen for a different interpretation than I have been spinning for it. I would still keep the argument that the first (I'm unaware of any more) Cowboys parody was not in my taste, but that's not much of an argument considering that it is more of an opinion. Like another commenter said, now you're moving up in the world with opposition (not necissarily an enemy). You're still much better than all of the ads your referenced, which made your response so humbling. Keep up the work. I didn't mean to belittle you, and I did. I apologize, you're not bad.

Vocabulary of the University of Hawaii?

Manny be Manny was your walk off. Don't feel bad Red, I couldn't stand you at first, then they brought in Mike Edwards. Jaba the Hutt with the vocabulary of UH! Please kill the high school highlights show and let the Fox saturday scrubs do the work.

Booms is all you got going locally. Art is fine in the evening, but daytime, Booms local, Rome nationally. The rest is a joke.

congrats, looks like you got your first hate mail. This means you're moving up in the world. Gotta have enemies to be loved.

Thanks for your comments "Uh." The promos and other things I do aren't for everyone, and I appreciate your honesty. Sorry that I force you to change the station, but most of them are only 30 seconds so I encourage you to tune back in.
Do you really think they are that bad? Would you rather listen to a PSA telling you to wear a seatbelt and not talk on a cell phone while driving? Or how about the HIGHLY uncomfortable network ad for Trojan condoms that parities Valentines Day with couples giving each other STD's instead of chocolates.
My noise pollution that comes on the air from time to tome allows you to take note of how talented people like really Art Haines are. You don't realize how nice it is to drive through Missouri until you've been to Oklahoma.
One question: How did you come to read this blog? Was it one of those promos? (you don't have to answer that if you don't want to).
In all honesty, thanks for listening to the JOCK and coming to check this out. Please keep commenting whether it be positive or negative. If you come out to Saturday Afternoon SportsTalk at Coester's and tell me to stop making stupid promos I'll think about it.

p.s. You didn't think the Cowboys bit was at least a little bit funny? That's my Mona Lisa. You say you don't think the blog is bad, but say that Cowboys thing sucks... are you effing with me?
